    First baseman/designated hitter for the Texas Rangers (1976) and the Toronto Blue Jays (1977-78, 1980)
    He was injury prone.
    It is speculated that he suffered from depression.
    He spent the 1979 season on injury reserve.
    He was divorced and remarried at the time of his death.
    He committed suicide by shooting himself in the head.
    He hit the first home run in the history of the Toronto Blue Jays (1977).
    The first Jay home run also served as the first American League home run on Canadian soil.
    He was in a select handful of position players who threw left handed and batted on the right side of the plate.
    He worked as a car salesman following his retirement from baseball.
    He managed one of the Blue Jays lower rank minor league teams in the early stages of his retirement.
