Appeared in several Three Stooges shorts
Ran a successful vending machine company

Why he might be annoying:

He was the first choice to play Tarzan in ‘Tarzan and His Mate,’ but declined because of an injury (Johnny Weissmuller took the role instead).
His Tarzan never achieved the popularity of Weissmuller’s.
He was often stuck in B-grade westerns and crime dramas.
He changed his name from ‘Herman Brix’ to ‘Bruce Bennett’ to prevent being typecast as Tarzan.

Why he might not be annoying:

He did his own stunts.
He served in World War II.
He was handpicked to play Tarzan by the character’s creator, Edgar Rice Burroughs.
His Tarzan portrayal was probably closer to Burroughs’ original character than any other.
He was married to the same woman for 67 years until her death (2000).
