French film director, producer, and screenwriter
Directed the 2011 black-and-white silent comedy-drama film 'The Artist'

Why he might be annoying:

His surname is a mouthful to spell and pronounce!
He is best known for his spy movie parodies.
He said, 'I love silent cinema but don't hold it sacred.'
Nepotism for French actor Jean Dujardin is evident by the fact that he casted him in three of his films.

Why he might not be annoying:

One of his cinematic influences was Alfred Hitchcock.
He is known for his outside-the-box method of filmmaking.
Even though 'The Artist' was shot in black-and-white with no spoken dialogue, he never wanted the film to feel 'conventionally old.'
During the filming of 'The Artist,' his filming crew reused, recycled and reduced waste essentially creating a 'green production.'
