Why they might be annoying
They got their name due to the initials 'MMJ' being found in a jacket left in the burnt remains of a bar. Jim James thought that it meant 'My Morning Jacket.'
Frontman Jim James sometimes goes by the pseudonym 'Yim Yames.'
They were going to tour as the Electric Mayhem from the Muppet Show, providing the actual music for the band but plans fell through. They also wrote a couple of songs for the project.
They formed the basis of an entire episode of 'American Dad!'
An episode of 'One Tree Hill' was named after one of their songs and had a couple of their other songs played during that episode.
