Why she might be annoying:

Thanks to 'Nashville,' she is usually thought of as a country singer, when her music is closer to the West Coast singer/songwriter style of Joni Mitchell.
During the Academy Awards telecast, as the Best Supporting Actress nominees were announced, when her name was read the cameras mistakenly cut to Susan Sarandon instead.
She performed at several Jerry Brown for President rallies (1976).
Her marriage to director Wim Wenders lasted just two years (1979-81).

Why she might not be annoying:

At age six, she suffered third degree burns when her dress caught fire from a 4th of July sparkler.
She was writing songs for 'Nashville' when Susan Anspach dropped out and she was cast in Anspach's place.
She was nominated for an Oscar for her acting debut in 'Nashville.'
She performed in Bob Dylan's Rolling Thunder Revue and sang backing vocals on his hit 'Hurricane.'
