The Resume

    (May 18, 1919-February 21, 1991)
Born in Reigate, England, United Kingdom
    Birth name was Margaret Hookham
Prima ballerina with the Royal Ballet
Noted ballets include 'Cinderella,' 'Swan Lake,' 'The Firebird,' 'Sleeping Beauty,' 'The Dying Swan' and 'Romeo and Juliet'

Why she might be annoying:

She had an affair with the Royal Ballet's married musical director.
She was engaged to another man when she fell for Panamanian diplomat Roberto Arias and deputized her mother to tell her fiance that she was ditching him.
She and Arias were arrested for smuggling weapons and attempting to overthrow the Panamanian government (1959).
She was criticized for performing in apartheid-era South Africa.

Why she might not be annoying:

Her dancing was renowned for its grace and passion.
Critic Richard Buckle wrote, 'She supported the honor and glory of our nation and empire on the point of one beautiful foot.'
At an age when most ballerinas retire, she reached a new height in her career by partnering with Rudolf Nureyev (1961).
She took care of Arias after a rival politician shot him, leaving him a quadriplegic (1965).
