The Resume

    (September 7, 2010- )
    Born in Tokyo, Japan
Japanese all-female (joshi) professional wrestling promotion
Founded by promoter Rossy Agawa and female wrestlers Fuka Kakimoto & Nanae Takahashi
Notable STARDOM wrestling talent includes Kairi Hojo (aka WWE's Kairi Sane), Io Shirai, Mayu Iwatani, Kris Wolf, Jungle Kyona, Toni Storm, Yoshiko Hirano, Konami & Kimberly 'Viper' Benson

Why World Wonder Ring STARDOM might be annoying:

It's like 'GLOW (Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling)'...but in Japan!
Also much like GLOW did during its own prime, the promotion emphasizes fanservice of its talent, and has trained a number of aspiring models and J-pop idols to wrestle for them.
They've hired female wrestlers who are as young as 12 (doesn't Japan have child-labor laws against this?)
Many of its wrestlers are injury-prone.
One controversial match went awry when Yoshiko Hirano went off-script and brutally beat and disfigured opponent Act Yasukawa (February 22, 2015).
Yasukawa needed facial reconstructive surgery, while Yoshiko was stripped of her championship title, suspended and eventually forced to retire for the incident.
A monthly subscription of 750 Yen (approximately USD $7.00) is required to watch videos and live streams of matches on its official website.

Why World Wonder Ring STARDOM might not be annoying:

Much of its talent incorporates mixed martial arts and acrobatic feats into their wrestling styles, making it closer to lucha libre than mainstream WWE-style wrestling.
It sometimes includes guest appearances by female wrestlers from America (including some WWE and TNA talent) and other countries.
It expanded its market to America with occasional visits to the States, and a guest appearance by Kairi, Io and Mayu on El Rey Network's 'Lucha Underground'.
Kairi and Io would later be signed to WWE, although Io left when WWE considered her too injury-prone for them.
It has its own series of photobooks featuring the wrestlers, including a swimsuit issue called 'STARDOM Bikiniing'.
