    Dismissed for insubordination by President Donald Trump for refusing to enforce the administration's travel ban (Jan. 30, 2017)
    She was accused of grandstanding and politicizing her role as acting Attorney General.
    She inadvertently found herself at the center of the Russia collusion investigation after communicating that General Mike Flynn had not been truthful with the White House about his contacts with Russian diplomats.
    She got into a testy exchange with Senator Ted Cruz during her testimony on Russian election interference, after he asked her if she was 'familiar U.S.C. Section 1182,' to which she answered 'not off the top of my head.'
    Her follow-up response, citing a completely different provision of the Immigration and Nationality Act, was cited as her getting the better of Cruz, even though she misquoted the law as written.
    She lost her father to suicide.
    She graduated with from the University of Georgia, with a degree in journalism, in 1982.
    She earned a Law degree from the University of Georgia School of Law, graduating magna cum laude, in 1986.
    She was inspired to go into law by her grandmother, who was one of the first women admitted to the Georgia Bar.
    She was the first woman to hold District Attorney position in the Northern Georgia.
    She was lead prosecutor in the Eric Robert Rudolph Olympic Park Bombing case (2003).
    President Trump may have threatened her in a tweet as a means of delaying her testimony on Russia.
    She was applauded by many legal scholars and activists for standing up for her beliefs and refusing to enforce the travel ban.
