    His team has been faced with many notable embarassing scandals such as the TopCat scandal and the Rae Carruth murder trial.
    He caught the game wining touchdown in the 1959 NFL championship game.
    He was the first former NFL player to own an NFL franchise.
    He is considered one of the NFL's more dedicated owners behind the scenes.
    He helped fund the construction of Bank of America Stadium with his own finances.
    After the Panthers were granted as an expansion franchise, he stated that the team would play in a Super Bowl during its first ten years, which proved to be correct.
