The Resume

    (March 2, 1955- )
    Born in Alamosa, Colorado
Attorney General for the State of Colorado (1999-2004)
    Democratic Senator from Colorado (2005-2008)
Named Secretary of the Interior (2009)

Why he might be annoying:

He loves wearing Stetson cowboy hats.
He grew up on a ranch without electricity or a telephone.
As a Senator, his record on environmental issues was incredibly mixed.
Some environmental groups claimed he was too close with the oil and mining industries to support significant environmental reform.
He upset Democrats by enthusiastically supporting Alberto Gonzales, then upset Republicans by calling for Gonzales to resign.

Why he might not be annoying:

He graduated University of Michigan with a law degree.
Despite his Senatorial voting record, he championed environmental conservation.
Coloradans elected him as their Democratic Senator, while Republican George W. Bush easily carried the state in the Presidential election (2004).
He performed better in Colorado's rural and ranching communities than many other Democrats who run for state wide office.
As Colorado's Attorney General, he helped create new branches of law enforcement which dealt with issues like gangs, sex offenders and environmental crimes.
