Advocate
    (July 2, 1970- )
    Born in Georgia
Founding member of The Tea Party
Co-founder, national coordinator for Tea Party Patriots (TPP)
Co-author of 'Tea Party Patriots: The Second American Revolution' (2012)
Columnist for The Washington Times; Semi-regular contributor for Fox News, CNN, and MSNBC
Named to TIME Magazine’s 100 Most Influential Leaders (2010)
She worked as a local GOP consultant before starting TPP (but usually forgets to mention this when selling herself as 'just like everyday Americans').
She was chief organizer of the bizarre 'Stop the Iran Deal' rally near the Capitol, at which Sen. Cruz and Duck Commander Phil Robertson were in attendance.
Although motivated mainly by concerns over monetary issues, she is noticeably more of an 'idealogue' than TPP co-founder Amy Kremer.
She openly opposed Amy Kremer's decision to start the TEA Party Express PAC, in 2009, saying 'patriots cannoy align with any organization that supports one party over the other.'
However, she has no qualms collecting a paycheck from the TEA Party Patriots Citizens Fund - basically a PAC (and has been accused of pocketing a majority of the funds raised, only doling out a small amount to actual candidates).
Tensions between the two escalated after Kremer was kicked off the TPP board for doing an Express bus tour, and then suing her, claiming that she had stolen their intellectual property.
Kramer countersued, blocking TPP's trademark application. Around this same time, Kramer's daughter came forward claiming to have been slandered by Martin's husband under a Facebook pseudonym.
Witnesses to the eventual 2011 courtroom proceedings attested it to being an emotional scene, with Kremer tearfully saying: 'It's so sad. I thought she was my friend.' When asked if Kremer was a friend, Martin answered curtly, 'No, she was a political associate.'
She was zealously pro-Cruz during the 2016 primaries, taking aim at then-candidate Trump in a charged CPAC address, saying: 'Donald Trump loves himself first, last and everywhere in between. He loves himself more than our country, he loves himself more than the constitution. He doesn’t love you, me, and he doesn’t love the Tea Party' (harsh...)
She is a mother to boy-girl twins.
She's the daughter of a Methodist minister.
She programmed computers at home for Home Depot before her husband's tem agency went bankrupt.
When their home of eleven years was on the verge of foreclosure in 2008, they ended up cleaning houses to avoid taking out a federal loan (but they lost it anyway).
She is even reported to have learned about President Obama's mortgage bailout proposal in between two cleaning jobs.
She was one of about 20 people who took part in the original conference call, started in response to Rick Santelli's infamous February 2009 rant, eventually leading to the formation of The Tea Party.
She and her original TPP colleagues worked hard to neutralize the organization from social issues (abortion, gay marriage, race, etc.), discouraging rally attendees from doing so.
It was probably insult piled on tremendous injury that her Presidential candidate not only lost to Trump, but that her old rival Amy Kremer was an early backer of his candidacy.
