    Appeared in the movies 'The Mack' (1973), 'Terminal Island' (1973), 'McQ' (1974), 'Stay Hungry' (1976), 'Leadbelly' (1976), 'The Greatest' (1977), 'Semi-Tough' (1977), 'Unlawful Entry' (1992), 'A Thin Line Between Love and Hate' (1996) and 'Hammerlock' (2000)
    He was a licensed helicopter pilot but was not allowed to do his own flying in 'Magnum, P.I.'
    He named his daughter Ch-a (pronounced 'chia').
    He was a frequent golfing partner of O.J. Simpson.
    He was twice runner-up in the California state high school wrestling championship.
    During free time from acting, he coached swimming and junior football, saying 'It keeps your mind sharp to work with kids.'
    He founded the Watts Repertory Company (1974).
    When his flight double in the first season of 'Magnum' was a white man in blackface and an Afro, 'I raised Hell, telling them as many blacks as there were flying in Vietnam, I know they could find somebody [qualified].' (From the second season on, his double was a black pilot.)
