Biblical Character

The Resume

    Prophet in the Hebrew Bible
Advisor to King David (Book of Samuel)
Delivered the Parable of the Lamb to King David after his affair with Bathsheba

Why he might be annoying:

    He was heavy on metaphors.
He was basically a glorified marriage counselor.
He is usually depicted pointing scornfully at <13739>the King<13739> in Biblical art.
His analogy about shepherds and lambs being like husbands and wives was a pretty big overreach...
He pretty much vanishes after the Bathsheba incident, largely being absent from the King's later family drama except for a few brief appearances (so basically a Biblical 'what happened to the mouse?' example).

Why he might not be annoying:

He torched King David for being a murderous adulterer and got away with it.
He was able to get David to condemn his own wrongdoing without even realizing it initially.
He prophesied that King David's unborn child would die in infancy because of his complicity in killing Uriah, Bathsheba's soldier husband.
He was sent by God again after David had repented to baptize his next newborn son, Solomon.
It was later revealed that King David named one of his later sons after him.
Raymond Massey played him in the Gregory Peck 1951 movie centering on the affair.
He relayed informtion to King David (from the Big Guy) advising him against building a house for the Ark of Covenant for the present time.
