    Science fiction author most well known for her KItty Norville series about a female werewolf/DJ
    Graduated from Occidental College with a BA in English and from the University of Colorado with a MA in English
    Much of her work, including the Kitty Norville series, is romance novels with supernatural elements thrown in.
    She bought herself a new car for Christmas 2008 and 'thinks' it wants to be called Vincent. Her previous car was named Madeleine.
    She considers 'a lot of vampire/werewolf/urban magic tales to be cliche, redundant, and therefore a bit dull.'
    She says people like Kitty, a crime fighting werewolf and late night disc jockey, because she is 'real' and they 'can relate to her.'
    None of her works have ever been filmed.
    She spent a year at York University as an exchange student.
    Growing up she was a self-described military brat.
    She likes attending sci/fi conventions.
    She has a lengthy and diverse group of authors she likes and cites as influences ranging from Ray Bradbury to Shakespeare to John Steinbeck and many others.
    She still does her own laundry.
    Reviews of her work have been overwhelmingly positive.
    She sold an incredible amount of books in a very short amount of time.
