    He was demoted to the minor leagues after appearing in 10 games with the Braves.
    He named his son after himself.
    He started Game 1 of the 1950 World Series and lost to the Yankees with Vic Raschi's two hit shut out 1-0.
    He also allowed three runs in Game 4 of that series leading to the Phillies being swept by the Yankees in four games.
