He died of a drug overdose.

Despite their success as a band, they will forever be known for their biggest hit, 'No Rain.'
He was charged with indecent exposure at a performance in Vancouver, BC (1993).
At the same performance, he showed his audience the biggest display of contempt when he urinated on the audience members in the front row.
He attacked a security guard at the American Music Awards (1994)

Blind Melon was Grammy nominated for Best New Artist.
Their debut album sold 2 million copies.
He died young.
