Why she might be annoying:

Before marrying journalist Aaron Latham in 1977, she dated Bob Woodward and Al Gore.
The Woodward dating must have come in handy as she was assigned to cover the Watergate scandal.
The night before the 1984 presidential election she did a piece critical of Reagan's budget cuts of nursing home and hospitals but showed pictures of him at those venues, and he received positive comments.
Confused as to why her report was deemed so positive, she was told by a Reagan staffer, 'No one heard what you had to say in that piece. They just saw the pictures.'
During an October 2007 interview with French president Nicolas Sarkozy, she asked him about his estranged wife and he stormed out before the session had barely started.

Why she might not be annoying:

She graduated cum laude from Wheaton College in 1963 and serves on their board of trustees.
She portrayed herself in a 1993 and 1995 TV episode of 'Murphy Brown' and a 1997 episode of 'Frasier' .
She broke with the exclusive story in 2002 that Al Gore wouldn't run for president again in 2004 (that dating thing DID come in handy).
She's won the Dennis Kauff Journalism Award (1990), the Matrix Award for Broadcasting (1993), the Fred Friendly First Amendment Award (1996), the Edward R. Murrow Award for Overall Excellence in Television, several Emmys for her 'Face The Nation' and '60 Minutes' interviews and a Lifetime Achievement Emmy in 2003.
In January 2008 her New York City apartment was burglarized and over $100,000 worth of jewelry and electronics were stolen.
