    Her salon at one point charged thirty dollars for a simple hair cut (reduced to twenty with the purchase of a $95 color treatment).
    'Big Hair Alaska' was dropped the night of its pilot after TLC execs opted against renewing it for any further episodes.
    The show's big highlight was a 'ventriloquist, puppeteer, and Palin impersonator' asking for the exact up-do recipe, only to be denied ('nobody gets her formula!')
    She claimed to have been misquoted after the New York Times reported her as saying that Palin's hair was 'thinning' prompting an 'emergency visit' to her salon shortly before her resignation as Governor.
    She started the Beehive salon in the garage of her home after separating from her husband.
    She built her client base by relying on word of mouth through local congregations.
    The 'Big Hair Alaska' pilot focused on her struggling to balance family demands with work (i.e. her daughter's spinal problems).
    She continued to stylize Palin's hair after the election, such as for her 2009 Runner's World spread (photos which later made the cover of Newsweek).
    She explained the up-do by saying: 'We came up with pulling her hair up so that those earrings wouldn’t get stuck in her hair when people gave her hugs and stuff. And it just kind of evolved into her classic look.'
