The Resume

Why he might be annoying:

He shares a name with a former Days of our Lives Soap star.
That the two also look a little alike has even led his Wikipedia page to credit him with 'appearing as a character' and doing 'facial-motion capture in Call of Duty: Black Ops III' (nope - that's the other Douglas).
He likes to share odd (if funny) text messages between himself and his dad; under the hash tag, #textsfromdad.
This included him responding to one text from Keaton reading 'want to have dinner?' and his messaging back a picture of wild grizzlies feeding on what appeared to be a dead moose.
His dad joked on Ellen that Douglas was initially afraid to tell him the name of his 'Talk Dirty' song before it was released (although he didn't choose the name himself).
Of course, its hard to understand why he would be so self-conscious about how his material is perceived, when they contain such lyrical prose as 'How do you fit all that, in them jeans?/You know what to do with that big fat butt/Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle!'
He may have inadvertently upstaged his father during his 'big moment' at the Golden Globes (within minutes of Keaton thanking him in his speech, the Twittosphere lit up with horny groupies trying to find out everything they could about him - mainly his marital status).

Why he might not be annoying:

He has a refreshingly close and open relationship with his father.
He played in bands both high school and college.
He lost his mother to Multiple myeloma, when he was 26 (Feb. 2010).
His dad choked talking about him up in his emotional Golden Globe acceptance speech gone viral.
Specifically, after calling his son 'my best friend,' Keaton proceeded to praise him as 'kind, intelligent, funny, talented, considerate, thoughtful… Did I say kind?'
When one of his bands attracted major label record deal, he asked the group's manager if he could try his hand at co-writing for other artists during the negotiation period, which led to a career in songwriting.
He cited his enthusiasm for all genres of music as part of the reason he had problems being in a band, saying 'I'd wake up and want to write a country song -- another morning, I'd want to write a rock song.'
He wrote 'Ghost Town' in three days when <540>Madonna<540> personally requested some studio time, after hearing 'Talk Dirty.'
The revelation that he was Michael Keaton's son came as a shock to many, even some of his colleagues, not only because of his different last name, but also because he rarely mentioned it.
