Puppeteer
    (August 13, 1935-March 17, 1999)
Born in Isle of Sheppey, England, United Kingdom
    Puppet act with Emu
Regular on British TV shows 'EBC1: Emu's Broadcasting Company,' 'Emu's Pink Windmill Show' and 'Rod 'n' Emu'
Regular on the CBS series 'The Hudson Brothers Razzle Dazzle Show' (1974-75)
Died falling off the roof of his house while trying to adjust a TV aerial
His act involved Emu attacking anyone who got too close.
He increasingly resented his puppet, commenting, 'I want to write but Emu doesn't leave me the time. I want to be a comedian in my own right, but again Emu won't let me do it.'
He recorded the football song 'Bristol Rovers All The Way' (1974).
He bought a mansion, then went bankrupt renovating it.
He started as a lighting technician for Australian television before appearing on-air.
He attached a fake arm to his jacket, which was surprisingly effective at making it look as if Emu was acting on his own.
His breakthrough was an appearance at the Royal Variety Performance (1972) where Emu ate the Queen Mother's bouquet, much to her amusement.
