    She was married and divorced twice.
    She has been accused of malfeasance and misuse of EU funds.
    She has predicated her political career on being the daughter of a man who trafficked in xenophobia and anti-semitism.
    She has complained vocally about her last name previously having been 'a burden' in her academic and professional life.
    She was accused of Islamaphobia after criticizing Muslim women who wear headscarves, saying: 'Go to the country that corresponds to your way of life. This is common sense.'
    She was criticized for comparing the blocking of public streets for Muslim prayer to the Nazi Occupation of France.

Why she might not be annoying:

    Although a member of France's far-right, she identifies as pro-abortion rights and pro-LGBT rights.
    Her house was bombed in a failed assassination attempt on her father, when she was only eight.
    She earned a postgraduate diploma for criminal law from University of Paris in 1991.
    As leader of the National Front, she oversaw the expulsion of controversial members accused of racism or anti-semitism (including her own father).
    Her loss to Emmanuel Macron by a wide margin came as a shock to many, considering that she outperformed him in some polls.
