Why he might be annoying:

    He is a pretty boy.
Like most players who are already predetermined to go first overall, he was extremely overhyped going into the NHL Entry Draft (2011).
Some hockey pundits felt the Oilers had the advantage over the other clubs in regards to scouting him after winning the NHL Draft Lottery as a result of his junior club in Red Deer being in close proximity to Edmonton.

Why he might not be annoying:

He was the first Western Hockey League player since Chris Phillips to be chosen with the first overall pick.
He was considered one of the cornerstones in the Oilers rebuilding process.
He recorded a hat trick in his third career NHL game.
He defied the odds and made the Oilers roster as an 18 year old.
He wears jersey #93 to commemorate his birth year.
