    He is a die hard Detroit Tigers fan.
    He quit his job as an economic consultant at KPMG to earn a living by playing poker online.
    When asked what was his biggest regret in life, he said it was working for KPMG for four years.
    Some accuse him of liberal bias in his journalistic approach.
    Despite voting for Democrats most of the time, he maintains that he is officially non-partisan.

Why he might not be annoying:

    Before politics, he was known for his brilliant analysis of baseball stats.
    He is known for developing PECOTA (Player Empirical Comparison and Optimization Test Algorith), a sabermetric system for forecasting Major League Baseball player performance.
    He correctly predicted the voting results for 49 out of 50 states in the electoral college during the historic 2008 US Presidential election.
    TIME magazine named him as on of the 100 Most Influential People in the World (2009).
    He once was featured as a guest analyst on ESPN's Baseball Tonight.
