Why she might be annoying:

She often sported a huge cowboy hat and pink sunglasses.
She described herself as a 'loud-mouth.'
In 1957, she wed despite denouncing marriage as an institution.
As a lawyer she represented musical drug addicts Charlie Parker and Billie Holiday.
To protest Harvard's lack of female toilet facilities, she led a group of people who urinated en masse on the University's grounds.

Why she might not be annoying:

She fought for both women's rights and civil rights.
She nearly sued to gain entrance into Columbia University's Law School when she was rejected due to gender.
She stated: 'If men could get pregnant, abortion would be a sacrament.'
The final years of her life were spent confined to a wheelchair.
