U.S. Senator

The Resume

    (August 9, 1960- )
    Born in El Dorado, Kansas
Congressional Representative for Kansas' 1st District (2017-21)
US Senator from Kansas (assumed office January 3, 2021)
    Republican

Why he might be annoying:

During a property dispute with his neighbor, he allegedly tried to run his neighbor over with his car (2008); he eventually pleaded 'no contest' to misdemeanor reckless driving charges and settled a civil suit filed by the neighbor.
He explained his opposition to Medicaid expansion with, 'There is a group of people that just don't want health care and aren't going to take care of themselves.'
He joined Josh Hawley's spurious attempt to overturn the election results in Arizona and Pennsylvania.
He promoted conspiracy theories that the CDC was inflating the death toll from COVID-19.
He hyped hydroxychloroquine as a treatment for COVID-19, despite a lack of evidence for its effectiveness.
During a Senate Health Committee hearing (January 11, 2022), he repeatedly asked Anthony Fauci if he would be willing to make his finances public, to which Fauci replied -- with growing exasperation -- that his financial disclosure forms were already available to anyone who cared to file a Freedom of Information Act request.
At the end of the hearing, a hot mic picked up Fauci saying, 'What a moron.'
Presumably in retaliation, Marshall then publicly released Fauci's financial records -- the same records he had days earlier been complaining were hidden so well that his staffers could not find them.

Why he might not be annoying:

He spent seven years in the US Army Reserve.
Before going into politics, he was an ob-gyn who delivered over 5,000 babies.
He volunteered at a free family planning clinic.
He was a passenger on a chartered Amtrak train that collided with a trash truck in Crozet, Virginia, and administered first aid and CPR to the injured (January 31, 2018).
