Why he might be annoying:

    He considers himself publicly reserved.
    His appointment to president was delayed for several months to allow the previous president – who was not an immediate relation – to escape blame for the company’s 2008 performance.
    In the midst of the recall, he appeared on the Late Show in what initially came off as a face-saving move.

    He is an avid race car driver.
    Unlike American auto entrepreneurs, he is willing to be poked fun at.
    He did not immediately succeed an immediate family member for the presidency.
