    She got her first journalism job at 'PM,' where her mother Cecilia Ager worked as a columnist.
    She was married and divorced twice.
    She allegedly had an affair with Senator Eugene McCarthy.
    She said, 'I don't give a rap about '60 Minutes....' I care about my writing. I'm not a quack-quack TV journalist.'

Why she might not be annoying:

    As a child, she inspired her father, Tin Pan Alley composer Milton Ager, to write the hit 'Ain't She Sweet.'
    Her daughter committed suicide at age 25 (1987).
    Mike Wallace said, 'She was entertaining and obviously bright as could be, and we looked forward to the battle of the brains between her and Kilpatrick.'
    Her '60 Minutes' debates with conservative James J. Kilpatrick were famously parodied by Jane Curtin and Dan Aykroyd on Saturday Night Live.
