The man behind the legend of Faust

Why he might be annoying:

He was accused of practicing black magic, disparaging Jesus's miracles, and boasting that he could do the same thing.
He was hated and feared by Philipp Melanchthon and Martin Luther, who claimed that the Devil always accompanied him.
He fled punishment after being accused of molesting his students.
While lecturing on Homer at Erfurt's University, he 'entertained' his students by confronting them with Homer's heroes in the flesh.
He said to a Franciscan monk named Konrad Klinge: 'I have gone further than you think and had pledged myself to the devil with my own blood, to be his in eternity, body and soul.'
He was overshadowed by his fictional self after Christopher Marlowe and Johann Wolfgang von Goethe became famous for their dramatic portrayals of him.
His last name also means 'fist' in German (So he's named Mr. Fist?).

Why he might not be annoying:

He attended University of Cracow where, according to Melanchthon, he practiced magic.
He might have been a social outcast and a scapegoat.
He was put to death for his unorthodox ideas.
According to legend, he was found in a dung pile with his eyes stuck to a wall.
He became a legend after his death.
His legend would spawn many works about him like dramas, musicals, and movies.
His last name became synonymous with 'selling your soul for power.'
