'Pink Shoe Laces' entered Billboard's Hot 100 chart the day before her 13th birthday.
'Pink Shoe Laces' was a top five hit on both the pop and R&B charts and was certified gold for sales of over a million singles.

She also sang backing vocals for Loretta Lynn, Mac Davis, and Boz Scaggs.
