He doesn't believe the NHL needs a salary cap.
He falsely believes that the NHL teams are not as financially strapped as they say they are.
Many believe his actions could lead to the demise of professional hockey in North America.
He finally agreed to a salary cap after it was too late.
He caved in on the cap even though he said numerous times that 'there would never be a salary cap.'
He allowed personal feelings about NHL commissioner Gary Bettman get in the way of getting a deal done.
He had the NHL players go on strike for 10 days right before the playoffs (1992.)
He's just a lawyer who doesn't really care about the sport of hockey.
He's never played pro hockey before.

He has the players' financial interests at heart.
He's a shrewd negotiator.
He played college hockey at Harvard.
