The Resume

    (February 7, 1927-March 7, 1973)
Born in San Miguelito, Sonora, Mexico
Portrayed Tomas 'Tommy' Cantanios/Tommy Kansas in 'The Ring (1952)'
Acted in 'The Lawless (1950),' 'City Beneath the Sea (1953),' 'Touch of Evil (1958),' and 'Lonely Are the Brave (1962)'

Why he might be annoying:

He admitted to squandering much of his earnings on partying at the peak of his career.
He is the star of 'The Ring,' but his name is completely left off modern posters for the film, with Rita Moreno's and Gerald Mohr's (and sometimes Art Aragon's) names being featured prominently instead.
His movie career faded in the late 1950's and he was relegated to small roles on television.
He was set to be a regular on Westinghouse Desilu Playhouse, but the show ended with his only having done two episodes (his final TV role would be on Marcus Welby).

Why he might not be annoying:

His family emigrated from Mexico to East Los Angeles when he was nine.
He was working as a studio carpenter before getting his break in movies.
His first role was as a young Mexican who faces a racist lynch mob in a small North California town in 'The Lawless.'
He lost his oldest child to Leukemia at the age of five.
'The Ring' is one of the first Hollywood films to depict discrimination against Mexicans.
He came off as very real and genuine in all of his film roles.
He and his family were the inspiration for neighbor Daniel James' novel 'Famous All Over Town' (published in 1983 under the pseudonym Danny Santiago).
Lalo Rios is a distant relative of BoyWiththeGreenHair/SmokeGetsInYourEyes'.
