Most internet chatrooms don't have welcoming and interesting conversations, instead the chatters usually spread spam links, ask people to view their webcams and make people feel even more isolated.
Morons and asses decide to spread viruses.
People chat over the internet and meet in person, sometimes getting killed or raped.
A lot of websites cost money to view, including porn.
Some porn websites are disguised as popular websites to boost traffic.
Giving out personal information on websites is not completely safe.
Some internet auctions are actually fake and they suck money out of you.
People can easily fraud as a celebrity or someone else and spread rumors.
Spending too much time on the computer can cause severe health problems.

Why they might not be annoying:

It's easier to shop online, instead of going to stores with huge crowds and finding out the stuff you are looking for is sold out.
You can order concert tickets without waiting and camping on a line.
It can be helpful for homework, projects or other school assignments.
You can get news on demand.
Online dating services have helped people find love (or at least have sex).
Sites like Classmates.com can help you find and re-unite with people you haven't spoken with for many years.
File sharing programs have helped independent music artists develop their fan bases.
Auction websites have helped people buy rare collectibles, out of circulation items and autographs.
It prevents severe boredom and it probably prevents kids from getting into trouble.
