Basketball Player

The Resume

    (September 7, 1988- )
    Born in Santa Monica, California
Power forward/Center for the Minnesota Timberwolves (2008- )
Attended University of California, Los Angeles
Drafted with the 5th overall pick in the 2008 NBA Draft
    NBA All-Rookie Second Team (2009)

Why he might be annoying:

    His surname sounds somewhat effeminate.
He followed in his father's (Stan Love) footsteps becoming a basketball player.
In the summer of 2005, he caused controversy when Nike removed him from its Portland Elite Legends AAU team because he had chosen to participate in the Reebok ABCD Camp against other top recruits.
In his rookie season, the Timberwolves lost 15 of the first 19 games.
At the beginning of the 2010-2011 NBA season, there was speculation that there was a rift between him and coach Kurt Rambis.
He appeared on the HBO comedy 'Entourage' and Disney Channel's 'The Suite Life on Deck.'
The T-Wolves released a commercial parodying fragrance commercials with a faux-cologne called 'Numb#rs' as a way to convince NBA fans in including him on the All Star roster. (2011)

Why he might not be annoying:

His uncle is Beach Boyssinger Mike Love.
Growing up, he studied tapes of Hall of Famers Hakeem Olajuwon, David Robinson, and Michael Jordan.
Famed basketball player Walt Hazzard gave Love's blessing to wear the number 42 jersey during his collegiate tenure.
He and his family received obscenities and death threats from University of Oregon fans after he chose to play for rival UCLA. This lead to a discussion of the extremities of sports fanatics.
He was drafted among the likes of Russell Westbrook and O.J. Mayo.
He finished the 2009-2010 NBA season as the best rebounder per game (18.8).
In a home game against the New York Knicks, he became the 19th player to record 30 points and 30 rebounds in a game (November 12, 2010).
He also became the first player to record a 30-30 since Moses Malone in 1982.
He is quite humble, humorous, and intelligent compared to most other players.
He likes going to the movies in his spare time and cited 'Toy Story 3' as one of his favorites.
Despite playing for Minnesota, he has great admiration and reverence towards the Los Angeles Lakers since his father and one of his coaches played there.
In fact, two of his head coaches (Rambis and Kevin McHale) played against each other during the heyday of the Lakers-Celtics rivalry.
He listed legendary Bruins coach John Wooden as an inspiration.
