He was traded in the middle of his rookie season to the Grizzlies in order for the Lakers to acquire Pau Gasol.
He and then-teammate Gilbert Arenas were both charged on gun possesion stemming from a gambling-related incident in the Wizards' locker room (December 24, 2009).
He was charged with murdering Jullian Jones, a 22-year-old mother of four in Atlanta because he wanted to retaliate against someone who robbed him four months earlier (August 26. 2011).
