The Resume

    (June 27, 1924-September 4, 2010)
    Born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa
Editorial cartoonist for the Denver Post (1950-64) and Los Angeles Times (1964-93)
    Three-time Pulitzer Prize winner (1964,1971,1984)

Why he might be annoying:

He said, 'No one's ever accused me of being objective.'
Then-governor Ronald Reagan called the Times so often to complain about Conrad's cartoons that the publisher eventually stopped taking his calls.
Ironically for a guy who made Nixon's enemies list, he was appointed to the Richard M. Nixon Lecture Chair at Whittier College (1977-78).
The titles of several books collecting his cartoons make puns off his last name: 'Pro and Conrad,' 'ConArtist,' etc.

Why he might not be annoying:

He served with the US Army Corps of Engineers in World War II.
He and Barbara King were married for 57 years until his death.
The Nixon administration audited his taxes four times and came up empty.
Art Buchwald said, 'Where there is corruption, greed or hypocricy, everyone says 'This is a job for Conrad.' '
