The Resume

    (June 25, 1892-October 9, 1959)
    Born in Shibayama, Chiba, Japan
Lieutenant General of the Imperial Japanese Army and microbiologist during the Second Sino-Japanese War and World War II
Head of Unit 731, the infamous Japanese biological warfare compound erected in a remote part of the Manchurian Peninsula and used to experiment on prisoners (mostly Chinese)
Estimates in deaths at Unit 731 (nicknamed the Asian Auschwitz) range from 3,000 to 12,000
Received immunity from prosecution on war crime charges in 1946
Died of throat cancer in Tokyo at age 67

Why he might be annoying:

He was a notorious whore monger who frequented Tokyo's finest geisha houses.
His biological torture compound was covered by a story that it was really a water purification facility.
He called the people he experimented on 'logs' as reference to his feelings of their expendable nature.
He injected subjects with bubonic plague, cholera, anthrax and typhoid, waited, then cut them open, sometimes when they were still alive.
If he needed a brain to dissect he sent a subordinate to take an ax to a prisoner's head and he'd have his brain in no time.
Freezing limbs and thawing them to test rotting flesh, beheadings to test sharpness of swords, flame throwers aimed at human targets tied at different distances and bacterial spores in mini bombs thrown at prisoners were all on the menu.
Limbs removed to study blood loss, sometimes sewn back on opposite sides, raping and forced abortions, air injected into arteries, stomachs removed and intestines sewn onto the esophagus, high pressure chambers until eyes popped, and much more.
If he didn't feel like 'Chinese' he was not above vivisecting Allied prisoners.
His germ knowledge led to contaminating Chinese agriculture, reservoirs, releasing infected fleas and sometimes outright bombing that killed an estimated 400,000 Chinese civilians.
He avoided prosecution in exchange for sharing biological data collected from inhumane experimentations with Allied scientists who were far behind in germ warfare.

Why he might not be annoying:

He did post graduate medical work at Kyoto University and was a star pupil.
Once Japanese defeat was imminent he had the 150 remaining prisoners killed with quick acting, relatively painless injections (what a guy).
For a time he supervised biological research at the University of Maryland who knew nothing of his atrocities and gained valuable insight from his teachings.
    He is dead.
