Husband of Marie Antoinette
Captured by a Parisian mob and forced into pseudo-imprisonment in Paris (1789)
Convicted of treason and executed by guillotine (1793)

Why he might be annoying:

He suffered from depression.
He was notoriously indecisive.
His government was almost always in debt.
His attempts at reforming France's economic system were unsuccessful.
He had a rare erectile condition that made sex impossible, but refused to have it treated until seven years into his marriage.
The day that the Bastille was overrun, he wrote that 'nothing happened' in his diary.
He was ultimately overthrown during the French Revolution.
During the revolution, he attempted to escape into Belgium, but was caught and imprisoned (1791).

Why he might not be annoying:

He was an honest man who never really wanted to rule.
He lent support to the Americans during the Revolutionary War.
His failed escape was used as an excuse by revolutionaries to suppress political opponents.
His reign, though weak, was less repressive than Robespierre's Committee of Public Safety.
He was beheaded by the French National Assembly (1793).
