Why she might be annoying
Gee, who thought we couldn’t pronounce ‘Caracciolo’? Or was it not edgy enough?
She admitted to being a liar and a quiet, smile-free student — particularly in science class.
Her parents gave her a guitar for her tenth birthday; she only began taking lessons, and for only a few months, three years later.
Having convinced her parents to postpone college to focus on her music, she signed to Def Jam in the month following her graduation.
She drew comparisons to Rihanna and Lorde — in the latter case, also visually.
She did not come by her talent through her family.
Kind of hard to be an Italian and not have a large snout.
Why she might not be annoying
But she never gave up on her guitar; she eventually taught herself.
She was part of the school choir and a few talent shows.
She drew comparisons to Amy Winehouse (whom she lists as an inspiration) and Norah Jones.
It was an indie cover that led to her recording contract; specifically, ‘Sweater Weather’ by The Neighbourhood (an American act, which would not normally use the ‘u’).
She regards Adele's ‘One and Only’ as the first cover she posted on Facebook.
Her inspiration for ‘Here’ was an actual party she attended at age 16 — and hated (‘there aren’t enough anti-party anthems’).
She managed to get the blessing of one Taylor Swift — who also interviewed her!
