    Wrote the young adult novels 'Aquamarine' (2001), 'Indigo' (2002), 'Green Angel' (2003), 'Green Witch' (2010), and 'Green Heart' (2012)
    Wrote the children's books 'Fireflies: A Winter's Tale' (1999), 'Horsefly' (2000), and 'Moondog' (2004)

Why she might be annoying:

    She had wanted to drop out of high school, had no plans to attend college, and never took the SATs.
    She changed her mind after realizing 'studying was easier than working.'
    It took her years to be comfortable calling herself a writer: 'I used to tell people I was a typist.'
