    NFL quarterback
Spent his career with the Dallas Cowboys (1976-88)
Played for Arizona State in college

Why he might be annoying:

He spent his first year in the pros playing for the Memphis Southerns in the WFL.
He sided with the owners during the 1982 NFL players strike.
He lost his starting job with the Cowboys twice, in 1984 and 1987.
He lost three straight NFC championship games.
His first name is actually Wilford.
He spent four years as a backup for Roger Staubach when he probably could have started for many NFL teams.
He was a poor and disinterested broadcaster when he tried it after retirement from the NFL.

Why he might not be annoying:

He's one of the greatest but most underrated quarterbacks in NFL history.
He had the misfortune of being a great quarterback whose career was sandwiched between the careers of two all-time greats, Roger Staubach and Troy Aikman.
He never fumbled during his career. Not once.
In addition to being a great quarterback, he punted for the Cowboys for most of his career, holding their all time record for punts (610) and single game record (11) with a career average of over 40 yards per punt.
He may have lost three straight NFC Championship games, but only because he got the Cowboys into three straight NFC Championship games.
He's in the state of Arizona, Arizona State, College Football, and Arena Football Halls of Fame.
He developed into an outstanding coach in Arena Football winning almost 200 games as of 2011.
He spent his entire NFL career with one team.
