Why he might be annoying:

    He fought for a State which supported slavery.
    His nickname was 'Fighting Dick.'
    His failure to attack Cemetary ridge at the Battle of Gettysburg may have cost his side victory.

Why he might not be annoying:

    He was twice wounded in battle.
    On several occasions, he took command in battle on behalf of a wounded superior Officer.
    At the Second Battle of Bull Run, Anderson launched an attack that broke the Union lines and sent it retreating back to Washington, D.C.
    He graduated from the U.S. Military Academy.
