The Resume

    (December 4, 1990- )
    Born in Medina, Ohio
    Computer science graduate student
    Won $1,519,601 and 38 consecutive games of Jeopardy! (July 21-October 11, 2021)

Why he might be annoying:

His run was dubbed 'the Amodio rodeo.'
He ticked some viewers off by starting every response with 'What is....' even if 'Who' or 'Where' would be more grammatically appropriate.
After his loss, some viewers speculated he had thrown the game so he could return to his studies.

Why he might not be annoying:

He was valedictorian of his high school.
He explained that by always saying 'What is...', he has one fewer thing to think about, allowing him to concentrate on coming up with the correct response.
He denied throwing the game, noting that the contestants are 'so smart and so competent that this could happen any game. And this time, it did.'
The contestant who defeated him, Jonathan Fisher, went on to win eleven games -- the first time Jeopardy! had consecutive winning streaks of more than ten games each.
When a fan tweeted that Jeopardy! wasn't the same without him, he replied, 'It's still awesome though!'
