The Resume

    (June 6, 1983-November 10, 2006)
    Children's educational show promoting literacy
    Originally aired on PBS
    Hosted by LeVar Burton

Why he might be annoying:

The theme song is a pain to listen to ('Butterfly in the sky, I can go twice as high...').
LeVar Burton always uses 'You don't have to take my word for it' and 'I'll see you next time.'
In 2004, the show was supposedly canceled because of sponsorship problems only to be picked again two years later.
Yet again, it was canceled again due to disputes between LeVar and distributors.
Run DMC appeared in an episode.
It took them 16 years to change the cheesy-animated opening.

Why he might not be annoying:

It had a plethora of celebrities narrating the featured book of the day.
Chaka Khan sang the updated version of the theme song.
    It helped promote childhood literacy.
It won a Peabody Award and 26 Daytime Emmys during its 23-year run.
