The Resume

    (January 24, 1972- )
    Born in Phoenix, Arizona
    Medium
Wrote 'Don't Kiss Them Goodbye' (2005), 'We Are Their Heaven: Why The Dead Never Leave Us' (2006), 'Talk to Me: What the Dead Whisper in Your Ear' (2011), and 'In the Dark: How the Dead Help Us Heal' (2015)
Inspiration for the TV show 'Medium' (2005-11)

Why she might be annoying:

The law enforcement agencies she claims to have solved crimes for (including the Texas Rangers and the Glendale, Arizona, police department) have either denied consulting with her or reported that any information she provided was not useful.
She claimed she was not getting any publicity from her work for law enforcement -- even though an entire TV series was built around it.
Gary Schwartz, director of the VERITAS Research Project, vouched for her abilities, claiming she had accurately described a recently deceased friend, including the fact that he had been confined to a wheelchair. However, what she actually told Schwartz was that his friend was giving her the message 'I don't walk alone,' which is not how most people would convey the information, 'Hey, I used a wheelchair back when I was alive.'
Not surprisingly, she refused to take James Randi's million-dollar challenge.
During an episode of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, she got drunk and instigated a fight between Kyle Richards and Faye Resnick (2010).

Why she might not be annoying:

While in college, she worked as an intern in the Phoenix district attorney's office, so she has made an actual contribution, however modest, to law enforcement.
She said about mediums, 'I think that there are some people who are charlatans, and with any profession, there's going to be some bad apples.'
She was portrayed by Patricia Arquette.
