The Resume

    (October 6, 2004- )
    Born in United States
Reality television show on the Sci Fi Channel
Main investigators are Jason Hawes and Grant Wilson
Premise: Showcases the 'Atlantic Paranormal Society' or TAPS, in their attempts to document paranormal activity

Why Ghost Hunters might be annoying:

They spend very little time, often one night, investigating a location to determine if it is 'haunted.'
Many of the ideas they use have no scientific reasoning behind them, such as: 'cold spots are ghosts draining energy from the surrounding air.'
The show is largely about hunting ghosts, but a lot of time is focused on the pointless bickering between cast members about trivial things such as 'who forgot what' for the investigation or someone not putting cameras up correctly.
Main cast member Jason Hawes always looks and acts like he is pissed off.
While investigating a cemetery, Jason put on a Halloween costume and ran around trying to scare the other cast members.
Cast member Steve Gonsalves is scared of heights, spiders, and flying. This has hindered his use in some investigations. The cast members also have to drive everywhere because he won't get on an airplane.
Former cast member Andy Andrews cried in one episode because no one would take him seriously.
Former cast member Brian Harnois and a camera man got scared and ran away from a supposed ghost during an investigation of Eastern State Penitentiary.
WWE wrestlers CM Punk and Elijah Burke have appeared on the show, taking part in the investigations.
In early episodes, the headquarters for the show and TAPS itself was in a trailer in Grant's backyard.
It's popularity caused a spin off titled 'Ghost Hunters: International.'
As of 2008 and with the show's fourth season, there has been no irrefutable evidence to prove ghosts exist.

Why Ghost Hunters might not be annoying:

It is one of the most watched shows on the Sci Fi Channel.
They do not rely on psychics or spiritual mediums as a method for finding ghosts.
All of the members of the show have regular day jobs, most notably Grant and Jason who are both plumbers.
They are always very critical of their own evidence, often deeming much of it as 'not good.'
They treat the locations they visit with respect.
In 2005, Jason received several death threats from a deranged fan of the show.
