Why he might be annoying:

He is divorced.
He was considered a child star.
The one TV show where he did have a major role as a child was cancelled after only five episodes ('Herbie, the Love Bug').
Most of his film roles since the early '90s are as thugs, bullies and tough characters.
He was charged with DUI in September 2003.
He has several tattoos, including a horseshoe and two hands in a praying position on either side of his neck, but rarely exposes them in his films (with the exception of 'A Time To Kill').

Why he might not be annoying:

He has been acting on TV and in films since the age of seven.
He is widely regarded as one of the best character actors working today.
He frequently works with Giovanni Ribisi, Ben Affleck, Adam Goldberg, Parker Posey and Richard Linklater.
In an interview, he said that he'd rather build a solid track record than be the next big thing.
He does a lot of his own stunt work in his films, including all of his stunt driving in 'The Way of the Gun.'
He has twice been nominated for a Golden Satellite Award (in 2001 for 'Boston Public' and in 2003 for 'Full Frontal').
