Why he might be annoying:

    He was a Nazi.
    He took part in the invasion of Poland.
    Many believe he ordered treatment of prisoners that violated the Geneva Convention.

Why he might not be annoying:

    At the Nuremberg trials, he pleaded not guilty 'before God, before history and my people' and might have been telling the truth, considering the fact that his convictions were later overturned.
    He signed the surrender of Germany.
