Why she might not be annoying:

Ethel Granger, also a fan of tightlacing, achieved the tiniest waist on record, measuring a mere thirteen inches.
She wore her first corset during her 1959 wedding.
Her husband, an orthopedic surgeon, took x-rays showing none of her internal organs were damaged from the corsetry.
She claimed the corsets helped in supporting her spine.
