The Resume

    (March 26, 1991- )
    Born in Fort Lauderdale, Florida
Outfielder for the Washington Nationals (2014-20) and the Kansas City Royals
    World Series Champion (2019)
    Gold Glove Award winner (2021)

Why he might be annoying:

He opted to forego a scholarship to attend the University of North Florida in order to turn pro.
He hit a 'Little League Grand Slam', which wasn't credited as an inside-the-park home run, after the ball was blundered by Yoenis Cespedes, who would be charged with an error on the play (2015).
His poor performance in a game, in which he struck out five times and made a fielding blunder that cost the Nationals the win, prompted baseball pundits to call it 'the worst game in baseball history.'
He was unable to crack the Nationals starting line up, largely in part to his inconsistency and inability to stay healthy.
He was outrighted by the Nationals, after he refused an assignment to the minor leagues (2020).

Why he might not be annoying:

He grew up in a military family.
He goes by his full name, in order to distinguish himself from other players he shares the same name with.
He hit a home run in his first World Series at-bat, making him the 39th player in MLB history to accomplish the feat.
He was a member of the Nationals first World Series championship team (2019).
He earned his first Gold Glove and Fielding Bible Award in his first year as a full-time major league starter.
