The Resume

Why The Crown (TV) might be annoying:

If it was broadcast during the daytime, it would more than likely have been considered a soap opera.
The series has been heavily criticized for its various levels of historical inaccuracy, such as over dramatizing several points of conflict between Elizabeth and Philip.
In fact, British reviewers have criticized the fourth season for being 'inaccurate' and 'anti-monarchy.'
Some feminist groups complained that star Claire Foy was paid considerably less than her co-star Matt Smith (this coming off of the recent Time-Up movement in Hollywood).

Why The Crown (TV) might not be annoying:

It is based on two of Peter Morgan's works which he wrote: The 2006 film 'The Queen' and the play 'The Audience.'
The series has cast plenty of famous faces.
Oscar nominated director Stephen Daldry helmed several episodes.
The series has received acclaim for its acting, writing, costumes, and production design.
